1983 City Index sets up its UK operations, becoming one of the pioneers of retail spread betting on financial markets.
2001
2001 CFD trading goes live on the City Index platform, widening our product range for clients.
2006
2006 Building on our UK success, we launch operations in Singapore and Australia.
2008-9
2008/9 City Index takes over US market leader FX Solutions, launching the world's first spread betting and CFD trading app for iPhone.
2012
2012 Marks the introduction of the City Index Trading Academy, helping aspiring traders to learn more about the market and finesse their skills in a tournament environment.
2014
2014 US-based firm, Gain Capital, buys City Index off the back of strong growth in its UK, Australia, and Singapore operations.
2021
2021 City Index becomes the new sponsor of Saracens Rugby Club, renaming Allianz Park the StoneX stadium.
2022
2022 The group purchases Chasing Returns, making them the exclusive provider of Performance Analytics, a digital mentoring tool. Additionally, City Index becomes available on TradingView and Metatrader.
2023
2023 With a successful 40-year track record, City Index now offers more products and services than ever, including Extended Hours trading on 70+ US stocks.
